8/9 til 18/9
Arrived in Broome and so happy to see the water and the beach! The water is an amazing colour, absolutely beautiful, so we are really looking forward to staying here for a week or so. First day we did a bit of exploring around town and checked out the Port hoping to see the local gropers that live there, but no luck for us today. Still it was a lovely place to get some nice photos.
We got a bit of a surprise that afternoon when we called into the local shopping centre to go to Woolies; as we parked the car and were walking across to the shops a plane went straight over the top of us – woah, we didn’t realise the airport was right there beside the shops!
The caravan park we are staying at is at Cable Beach and it has a lovely resort style swimming pool, which we have been making the most of! The beach is amazing with huge tides so when the tide is low we are able to ride our bikes for miles and miles, in the morning, then go down there and drive along the beach of an evening and find a place to park and watch the sun go down.
Of course, pictures of Cable Beach would not be complete without the obligatory camel trains at sunset photo! What a beautiful spot.
We also decided to treat ourselves to an afternoon out on the water, whale watching, as so many people have told us how lovely it is. And they are right, we had such a great afternoon cruising and spotting whales.
The yellow boat with wheels is how they transport us our to the whale watching boat! Once its out in the water the wheels come up and away we go!
I love Broome, it is so beautiful here!
We head out tomorrow, Friday, am looking forward to camping on 80 mile beach, hopefully will do some fishing, collect sea shells for my grandies and catch up with friends we met here in Broome!
See you again soon,
Christine & Jack
